About the Role
Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, communications, public policy, education, business, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in membership management, association services, or nonprofit engagement.
Demonstrated experience developing and managing member programs or services.
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
Excellent communication, organization, writing, and project management abilities.
Familiarity with CRM systems, email marketing platforms, and virtual meeting tools is a plus.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small, remote team environment.
Passion for language education, advocacy, or nonprofit work is highly preferred.
Requirements
Membership Engagement, Recruitment & Retention
Serve as the primary point of contact for all member organizations.
Build and maintain strong relationships with current members to ensure ongoing engagement and satisfaction.
Manage all aspects of membership records, renewals, onboarding, and communications.
Design and implement strategic outreach plans in collaboration with the Executive Director and organizational committees to recruit new members and expand JNCL-NCLIS’s national network.
In collaboration with the Executive Director and membership committee, develop and deliver programs, webinars, and virtual or in-person events tailored to member needs and interests.
Conduct regular member surveys and needs assessments; analyze data to inform service improvements.
Collaborate with the Executive Director to evolve the value proposition and benefits of membership.
Member Services & Programming
Plan and coordinate member-exclusive initiatives such as networking sessions, professional development opportunities, and collaborative projects.
Support the development and delivery of content and tools that serve members’ advocacy and policy priorities.
Help shape annual convenings and advocacy days with member engagement as a top priority.
Operations & Administration
Support daily administrative functions to ensure internal operations run smoothly.
Manage scheduling, recordkeeping, organizational documents, and CRM/database systems.
Assist with event logistics for board meetings, virtual meetings, and national advocacy events.
Support financial administration including invoicing, tracking dues, and preparing reports.
Assist with grant documentation and compliance-related administrative tasks.
Communications & Outreach (In Collaboration with Comms and Policy Team)
Coordinate member-facing communications, including membership newsletters, reminders, and outreach campaigns.
Support content updates on the website and contribute to digital engagement tools.
Assist with the development of promotional materials and email campaigns related to membership, programming, and events.
