Mr. Nifong serves as Advocacy Chair on the American Classical League National Committee for Latin & Greek; Co-Chair of the Illinois Junior Classical League, for whom he plans the Illinois delegation's trip to the National Junior Classical League Convention each summer; and past President of the Illinois Classical Conference.
Mr. Nifong previously taught Latin, English, and World History at high schools in the suburbs of Chicago, as well as a variety of Humanities- and law-related courses at The Johns Hopkins University’s Center for Talented Youth and Northwestern University’s Center for Talent Development. For several years he also co-taught a Philosophy of Education course to undergraduates and graduate students in Northwestern’s School of Education. For the nine years immediately preceding his years at Northside, he practiced law at several large law firms in Washington, DC, and Chicago.
Mr. Nifong holds a B.A. in Classical Studies and Comparative Literature from Duke University, an M.A. in Classics from the University of Michigan, an M.S. in Education and Social Policy from Northwestern University, and both a J.D. and LL.M. from the Duke University School of Law. In his time away from the classroom, he sometimes appears in plays and musicals staged by theatres such as Steel Beam Theatre of St. Charles and Jedlicka Performing Arts Center.
