JAYNE ABRATE, Ph.D.

Significant Contributor

Dr. Jayne Abrate has been the Executive Director of the American Association of Teachers of French since 1997. She holds a Ph.D. in French literature from Purdue University and taught at the university level in Missouri for 15 years before becoming Executive Director. She holds the rank of Commandeur in the French Ordre des Palmes académiques, the rank of Chevalier in the French Ordre des Arts et des Lettres, and is the recipient of the 2006 ACTFL Nelson Brooks Award for the Teaching of Culture and the 2014 Central States Conference Founders Award. She is a Past-President of JNCL/NCLIS.
