STUDY ABROAD:
A vehicle to improved language
proficiency and global/international
awareness
Foreign language teachers at all
levels of instruction would probably
agree about the importance and value of
study abroad and have encouraged their
students to participate in such programs
at some time during their academic
careers. The choice and location of the
program has often been an individual
decision with advice from the student’s
advisor(s) and the study abroad office
at the academic institution.
