LEGISLATIVE DAY:
We were fortunate to
be joined by Adrienne Dunbar (House Committee on
Education and Labor), Chris Gaston (Legislative
Director, Office of Rep. Rush Holt), and Chris Hartmann
(Chief of Staff, Office of Rep. Rush Holt) during our
legislative activities on the morning of May 1st.
Delegates spent the afternoon meeting with Members of
Congress and their staff to discuss language
and international education policy.
DELEGATE ASSEMBLY:
A number of
speakers were able to join us for the 2008 Delegate
Assembly to share current information about various
federal language programs and initiatives, and other
latest news from within the language community.
The delegates
voted to officially accept Charlotte-Mecklenburg
Schools as a new member of JNCL.
New JNCL-NCLIS Board members were
elected.
