2011 JNCL-NCLIS LEGISLATIVE DAY
& DELEGATE ASSEMBLY

May 19 - 21st

We will be on Capitol Hill for legislative briefings all morning on Thursday, May 19th, 2011, then have lunch at one of Capitol Hill's well-known watering holes, followed by the Annual Congressional Reception

The Delegate Assembly will be held as usual at the Hyatt Regency Bethesda on Friday and Saturday.

Issues of pressing concern to the language profession, particularly recently proposed education reforms

The Foreign Language Assistance Program, the National Security Education Program, the National Security Language Initiative, Title VI of the Higher Education Act and Fulbright-Hays, and the Elementary and Secondary Education Act

The report of the JNCL-NCLIS Committee on the Future, the nature and structure of these two organizations and how to address upcoming needs and concerns of the language profession.
